ELECTRIC MOTORS


Twin coaxial or traditional parallel e-drives, at ATS we understand the requirements specific to E-Motors. Due to their higher weight, electric motors have very specific structural requirements, creating challenges not only to the structure, but also to the industrial processes for production of the components. CAD DESIGN

Our proprietary Holistic Product Management system guarantees that the initial design is tuned for the industrial processes involved in the manufacturing of the components. This is especially needed for the motor's die casting structural elements, where the design has a strong impact on the heat treatment behavior after the die casting process. This system allows a smooth project, avoiding unexpected costs and delays.

CFD SIMULATIONS

Fully integrated into our HPM system, our CFD simulations are targeted towards the requirements of the cooling system of electric cars, considering motor, battery and cabin circuits, as well as the different operation modes for full cooling system layout. For this we use all industry standard 1D and 3D software.

FEM SIMULATIONS

We cover all areas of structural calculations, from single load cases, to high and low cycle fatigue of the entire structure of motor and battery frame. Our FEM simulations are fully integrated into our HPM system, guaranteeing fast and reliable results.
